Inspection & Audits
Independent inspection and electrical audits — from the factory floor to the operating site — that show where an installation really stands.
Independent eyes on quality and safety
DD Powertech carries out independent inspections and electrical audits through every stage of an asset's life — at the manufacturer during fabrication, on site during construction, and throughout years of operation.
Our reports are practical and prioritised. Every finding is backed by a measurement, a photograph or a clause reference, and comes with a clear recommendation your team can act on.
Installations change. Safety margins drift.
Equipment ages, loads are added, settings are changed and drawings stop matching what is on site. An independent audit resets your view of the real condition.
The problem
Connections loosen, earthing corrodes, protection settings fall out of step with the network and documentation drifts from reality — gradually and out of sight.
Our method
Systematic, standards-based inspection and testing, with every finding recorded, referenced to the governing clause and rated by risk.
The outcome
A clear picture of current status, a prioritised plan to close the gaps, and the evidence regulators and insurers ask for.
Every part of inspection & audits
Electrical safety audits
Systematic inspection of installations against IS/IEC standards and CEA safety regulations, with a risk-rated findings register.

Verification that relay and breaker settings remain selective, safe and correctly graded for the network as it is today.

On-site logging and analysis of harmonics, flicker, voltage dips and unbalance, with root cause and mitigation.
Explore this serviceThermography surveys
Infrared scanning of switchgear, transformers, busbars and cable terminations to find hot spots before they fail.

Earth resistance, continuity and electrode condition testing, checked against the design and IEEE 80 / IS 3043 safety limits.

Independent inspection at the factory and on site — FAT witness, installation checks and pre-commissioning verification.

A prioritised view of where an installation falls short of codes and client standards, and what it takes to close each gap.
Explore this servicePlanning an audit?
Tell us about the site, its voltage levels and what has changed since commissioning — we will scope the right audit.
From site visit to closed-out findings
Plan
Agree scope, standards and site access; review SLDs, earlier studies and maintenance records before the visit.
Inspect & test
Walk-down inspection, measurements and testing on site, with a photographic record of every observation.
Analyse
Compare findings with standards and design intent, and rate each one by safety risk and urgency.
Report & close out
Issue the findings register and corrective action plan, then verify the fixes once they are done.
Deliverables with every audit
Audit report
Executive summary, scope, method and detailed observations with photographs and references to the governing clause.
Risk-rated findings
Each finding graded high, medium or low so budget and shutdown time go to the most critical items first.
Corrective action plan
Practical remedial actions with priorities, so your maintenance team knows exactly what to fix and when.
Test records
Measured values, thermal images and test sheets that support regulator, insurer and client inspections.
Audits referenced to recognised codes
Inspection & audits — what clients ask us
Does an audit need a plant shutdown?
Most inspection and measurement is done with the plant in service. Tests that need isolation, such as some earthing and protection checks, are planned with your team into short scheduled windows.
How often should electrical installations be audited?
Many organisations audit every year, and after any major expansion, modification or incident. Insurers, regulators and client standards may set their own frequency.
Which standards do your audits follow?
CEA (Measures relating to Safety and Electric Supply) Regulations, IS 3043, IS/IEC 60364, IEEE 80, IEEE 1584, IEEE 519 and NFPA 70E, plus any client or site-specific standards.
Can you carry out third-party inspection for EPC contractors or owners?
Yes. We act as an independent inspector at vendor works and on site, witnessing FATs and verifying installation against approved drawings.
Do you fix the issues you find?
We provide the engineering for each corrective action — revised settings, earthing upgrades, labelling or updated drawings — and can supervise your contractor during implementation.
Will we get updated drawings after the audit?
Yes, if required. We can update the SLD and key layouts to match the installation as found, which is often the first step in closing compliance gaps.
